Best Value Flieger
This is an amazing Go Anywhere Do Anything watch with historic aviation style. I required: pilot style with a clean black legible dial, 42-44mm (8" wrist), an easily serviced Swiss movement, 10+ATM WR, good lume, sapphire crystal, stainless bracelet, and $1000 price point. I evaluated most manufacturers of flieger pilot-style watches (Stowa, Laco, IWC, Sinn, Fortis) but none met all of the above requirements at around $1000, other than Archimede. The Archimede Pilot 42 A is a perfect sports, casual/dress watch. The fine stainless bracelet comes in brushed steel, which works for most, or it can be polished for greater wrist presence. The 42mm size wears large since the dial comes to the edge of the case. And the added bonus is the ETA 2824-2 movement is running at 2+ seconds per day, within COSC standards, and can be serviced practically anywhere. It was shipped quickly to the US without problems. Overall, a highly recommended watch and a great company to work with.
